World Heart Day – September 29th

At BUSY Health, we understand the critical role cardiovascular health plays in overall well-being and we are dedicated to empowering individuals with the knowledge and tools to lead heart-healthy lives. That’s why we are proud to participate in the annual awareness event, World Heart Day.

Every year on September 29th, individuals and organisations around the world come together to celebrate this special day.  The initiative is dedicated to raising awareness about cardiovascular health and promoting heart-healthy living. Cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) remain the leading cause of death globally but with education, prevention and lifestyle changes, we can work towards a world where heart diseases are less prevalent.

Cardiovascular health refers to the well-being of the heart and blood vessels, which play a critical role in supplying oxygen and nutrients to all parts of the body. Maintaining good cardiovascular health is vital for overall well-being and longevity. Unfortunately, CVDs, which encompass conditions like heart disease and stroke, are responsible for nearly 18 million deaths worldwide each year.

How you can take action on World Heart Day:

Get Informed: Start by educating yourself about the risk factors for cardiovascular diseases. Understand how factors like high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, and obesity can affect your heart health.

Make Healthy Choices: Adopt a heart-healthy lifestyle by eating a balanced diet rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins, and healthy fats. Engage in regular physical activity, avoid smoking, and limit alcohol intake.

Get Regular Check-ups: Don’t neglect routine medical check-ups, especially if you have risk factors for heart disease. Regular screenings can help identify potential issues early on.

Raise Awareness: Share information about World Heart Day and the importance of cardiovascular health with your friends and family. Encourage them to make heart-healthy choices as well.

Support Heart-Related Charities: Consider donating to or volunteering with organisations that work to raise awareness, fund research, and provide resources for those affected by heart diseases.
