OUR NDIS SERVICES
Psychology is the study of behavior and the mind. It is a scientific discipline that explores how people think, feel, act, and interact with others. Psychology has many branches that focus on different aspects of human experience, such as development, health, social relations, and cognition.
Psychology can help people understand themselves and others better and improve their mental health and well-being.
If the NDIS has provided funding for you to attend a psychologist, it will be funded from the Capacity Building part of your plan. Learn More on our FAQ’s Page
An NDIS social worker is a professional who provides social and emotional support to individuals with disabilities and their families. They help them access the services and resources they need under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).
Some of the tasks that an NDIS social worker may do are:
- Provide counselling and therapy to individuals and families who are dealing with disability and mental health issues.
- Assist with NDIS planning and support coordination, identifying the goals and needs of the participants to find the best services and providers for them.
- Advocate for the rights and interests of participants and their families, especially those who are experiencing social disadvantage or discrimination.
- Refer and connect the participants to other NDIS services, such as allied health, early childhood, and swallowing assessments.
-
Educate and inform participants and their families about the NDIS price guide, outlining costs and funding available for different support services.
- Work with other professionals and agencies, such as schools, hospitals and government departments to ensure that the participants receive the best possible care and support.
If you have counselling included in your NDIS plan, it can be a great way to get extra support and develop your personal capacity. Counsellors can adapt to your needs and support you by:
- Guiding you through life transition goals.
- Refining your social skills so you can learn about different perspectives.
- Supporting your time management and goal setting skills.
- Supporting you in your job seeking journey.
- Assisting your planning, time management and memory issues.
